What is transfer paper

TheMagicTouch transfer paper is print media that transfers your design onto a product. When you combine these words, transfer and paper you get transfer paper. TheMagicTouch transfer paper has a special coating that holds the toner and allows you to print single color designs and full color designs on the transfer paper and use this print to make unique prints on many products and substrates. TheMagicTouch transfer paper is available in several types, numbers, and variations. The advantage of transfer paper is that you can use it on many products because in many cases the surface and/or composition does not play a role! There are single step papers and two step papers and you can transfer them face up or face down.

What types of transfer paper are there

We divide transfer paper into four diverse types of transfers:

2. Textile transfers (TheMagicTouch TTC 3.1, OBM 5.4, WoW 7.8, T.One)
3. Decal transfers (TheMagicTouch DCT 4.5 and Tattoo 2.1)
4. Tattoo transfers (TheMagicTouch Tattoo 2.1)

1. Toner transfers
Toner transfer are transfers that hold the toner on top off the coating of the paper. By heat and pressure, the toner (image) is transferred to surfaces. Because of the so many different surfaces you can transfer your design on, you may need an application tool.

2. Textile transfers
Textile transfers are transfers specially made for textiles. The toner (image) and the transfer layer are pressed into the yarn of the textile by means of heat and pressure.

3. Decal Transfers
A Decal transfer is a water-released transfer that releases the transfer layer and image when it encounters water.

4. Tattoo transfers
Tattoo transfers are transfers that are transferred with an extra adhesive layer and then released by water.

When do you choose transfer paper

What do you need for working with transfer paper

Working with TheMagicTouch transfer paper is amazingly simple and does not require a great deal of skill. You do need the right equipment though to enjoy all the benefits of this great printing system. The following is needed to work with transfer paper.

1. A suitable Transfer/Heat press

When you press a transfer into a fabric, you want to press the image as deeply as possible into the yarn of the fabric. You want to transfer all the toner and the transfer film; therefore, the temperature, time and pressure are essential. In addition, a swing away press offers the possibility to print on thicker materials and gives you a free working space. Every transfer/heat press gives heat, but not every transfer/heat press gives the right amount of pressure. The pressure distribution and the constant temperature also play a significant role for a good result. You don’t want to lose materials, especially with larger numbers or meeting a deadline. A scratch resistant result and excellent washing results help when using a high-pressure transfer/heat press for transfer paper.

2. A Color printer with laser or LED technology

Most Color laser and LED printers are suitable for TheMagicTouch transfer papers. Each brand or model has its own settings. For example, the fuser temperature, the type of toner or the feeding capabilities may vary. These properties play a key role for a good result. It determines whether the printer is suitable or less suitable for transfer paper. White toner provides full coverage on dark colors. It allows you to print detached and complex images without having to cut. Not only on dark textiles, but also on colored mugs, notebooks, bottles and much more.

3. Software

The MagicTouch Software that comes with the white toner printers provides ready-made settings for each TheMagicTouch transfer paper. The amount of toner is automatically set pro transfer paper and ensures that the white is white. No other system in this price range offers that many options.

4. TheMagicTouch Transfer Paper

Nine different transfer papers are available, each with its own application. The choice of transfer paper depends on the final product. The design is printed in mirror image on the transfer paper and then transferred with a Heat Transfer Press and for some papers you need one or two accessories.

TheMagicTouch TTC 3.1 has a special coating and therefore offers the ultimate soft feel which ensures high durability. Not only textiles but also many blank products and gifts can be printed if the base is white or light coloured, flat and heat resistant!

TheMagicTouch OBM 5.4

TheMagicTouch CPM 6.2

TheMagicTouch DCT 4.5

TheMagicTouch DCT 4.5 is a special coated water release slide-off decal transfer. TheMagicTouch DCT 4.5 has a very thin transfer layer. It is barely perceptible and very flexible. TheMagicTouch DCT 4.5 is applied with water. The transfer paper is available in two variants, transparent and white carrier, easy to cut through the Print & Cut process.

TheMagicTouch RST 9.1

TheMagicTouch RST 9.1 is used for rough surfaces. The transfer paper only puts the toner on the product. RST transfer paper goes deeper into the wood grain and then replaces in most cases the ThemagicTouch CPM 6.2 transfer paper.

TheMagicTouch ORD 8.1

TheMagicTouch ORD 8.1 is used for printing on acrylic and glass. The carrier paper remains on the rear side of the glass or acrylic and can be finished with a felt-like fine protection. The product is scratch resistant and has a luxurious look. This product is often applied in the trophy branch.

TheMagicTouch Tattoo 2.1

TheMagicTouch Tattoo 2.1 is used for printing on the skin and nails. The Transfer Paper is almost like a real tattoo and will last for 3-5 days. The print is crisp. Photos, graphics and texts are possible. Tattoo transfer paper is used as a starting ticket, admission ticket or for photo shoots. The temporary tattoo is like DCT applied with water.

TheMagicTouch SPF26

TheMagicTouch CL*Media is a specialized paper with a permanent adhesive which you can use for indoor and outdoor. CL Media is ideal for labels and stickers. The product comes in gold, silver, clear, white gloss, and white matte.
