    Operations for groin (ie, inguinofemoral) hernia remain common. With approximately 800 000 repairs performed annually in the US and 20 million worldwide, improving the diagnosis, management, operative technique, and delivery of care has benefits. Two years have passed since the publication of “International Guidelines for Groin Hernia Management”3 in Hernia. These guidelines were developed by the HerniaSurge Group, which consisted of an expert panel of international surgeons and 1 anesthesiologist. As the current leaders of the Americas Hernia Society, one of the main cosponsoring societies, we aim to highlight the key points of these guidelines.3
